Arte Doce Festival Returns to Lagos - Explore Algarve Lifestyle and Property Opportunities

23 July, 2025

Starting today, July 23rd, until the 27th, Lagos will be in full swing with the Arte Doce Festival, a fun celebration of traditional Algarve sweets. It is free to attend and there will be homemade sweets in a variety of shapes, such as fruits and flowers, produced with local ingredients like almonds, figs, and honey. But the festival isn't just about tasting delicious treats, there is also live music, entertainment for all ages, crafts, show cooking, and that unique atmosphere that makes this fair a true feast for the senses.

If you like the idea of living in a place that still preserves these local traditions, Lagos is a great place to consider. It has the perfect blend of history, beautiful beaches and modern life.

There are many areas to explore close to the sea: there is the charming Historic Centre, with its cobblestone streets and lively squares; Meia Praia, which is perfect for those who want to be close to the beach and enjoy more outdoor space; or the coveted Porto de Mós, away from the crowds yet  just a short drive from the center. Dona Ana and Ponta da Piedade are famous for their breathtaking cliffs and crystal-clear waters, ideal for those who enjoy stunning views and nature walks. And, just a little further west, there is also Praia da Luz, a quiet coastal village with a welcoming expat community.

Whether you are looking for a modern apartment or a traditional villa overlooking the sea, Lagos has something for everyone. Living here means you’re never far from fresh markets, great restaurants, beautiful nature, and events like Arte Doce that bring the community together.
